Roseann R. Wagner

Roseann R. Wagner, 77, of Des Plaines, IL  passed away on December 24, 2020 at Lutheran General Hospital.  She was born on November 29, 1943 in Portsmouth Virginia to Robert and Rose Kinzle.

Roseann attended Taft High School in Chicago and worked most of her years in the nursing field, both in hospitals and private Doctor practices.  She was an avid horsewoman who loved riding, jumping and caring for horses.  She was also a very creative individual who expressed herself through gardening, quilting, sewing and writing.
Like all the "Kinzle girls" her father taught her to be self reliant, strong willed and adventurous.  Even into her 70's she could be found digging in the dirt, moving rocks, trying to fix something broken around the house or just ready to pick up and try something new.

Roseann was a spiritual mentor to many; serving for many years as a prayer minister in her church, leading bible studies and as a compassion counselor to those struggling with life's issues.  When she was not busy doing all these things, she could always be found at one of her grandchildren's activities; cheering them on and loving on them.  She will be dearly missed by her family, and friends from the prayer room and gardening club.

Roseann is survived by her 2 sons, David (Gabi) Gates of Morton Grove and Ken (Lisa) Gates of McHenry; her 4 cherished grandsons Brant, Dane, Dylan and Ryan; and her 3 sisters Roberta Temkin, Ruth (Ray) Marquez and Rowena Kinzle.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Raymond.

There will be private service held for her immediate family at Saint Joseph Cemetery in River Grove on January 15th and a Celebration of Life Service held at Alpine Chapel in Lake Zurich on Saturday January 16th at 1 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in her name to Mainstay Therapeutic Riding Center in Richmond, IL (  For more information, please contact Suerth Funeral Home at 877-631-1240.
