Herbert J. Ulrich, 89, of Park Ridge. United States Army veteran during the Korean War. Beloved husband of the late Sandra H. Ulrich, nee Neubauer. Loving father of Kimberly (Michael Sandow) Ulrich, Vanessa (Jason) Sinner, Candace (Mark) Peterson and Brent (Jennifer) Ulrich. Proud grandfather of Alex, Naomi, Jackson, Vivian, Emma, Skylar and Jade. Dear brother of Edward Ulrich, MaryAnn Neuson and the late Joseph Ulrich. Devoted son of the departed Joseph and Mary Ulrich, nee Kropf. Herb had a successful 44 year career at PPG Industries and was a long standing member of the Painting Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA). He was a car enthusiast, nature/animal lover, and enjoyed hitting the dance floor, telling good jokes, playing golf, and watching Cubs baseball. His lifelong love of driving and nature came together through scenic road trips with his family to numerous U.S. National Parks including Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and the Smoky Mountains as well as countless other locations such as Door County, Lake Tahoe, Brown County State Park, the Biltmore Estate, Monticello, Williamsburg, Disney World/Land, Lake of the Ozarks and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Visitation at the M J Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy., Chicago, Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2- 6pm. Funeral service Monday at 11:00am. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery.
