Marion B StiensSTIENS

Marion B Stiens, 99, of the Edison Park neighborhood of Chicago. Passed away January 24, 2021 in Chicago.  Born July 27, 1921 to the late Anna, nee Feipel and the late Bernard Stiens.   Loving sister of the late Lucille Stiens Bodden and the late Elaine Stiens Berlak; and of Barbara Stiens Mendelsohn. Fond Aunt of Jerry (Joan) Bodden, Janet Bodden (Frank) Raczka), Gregory (Renee) Bodden , and Barbara Bodden (Tom)Willert .   Also of Michael (Joanne) Berlak , Andrea Berlak, and Gary (Fatima) Berlak.

After a stay at a dude ranch Marion and Elaine took up horseback riding, an interest Marion pursued for many years.   On vacations from her secretarial position at U. S. Steel she often traveled the Western United States. Such trips were often group pack trips and on one of these she rode a mule to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.These Western trips raised her awareness of Native American interests and concerns, and over the years she frequently contributed to Indian charities and causes.
She and Elaine traveled together to Europe, concentrating on Luxembourg and Germany, the countries of the Stiens-Feipel family heritage.

 Family and friends meeting Thursday, January 28, at St. Juliana Catholic Church, 7201 N. Oketo (at Touhy) from 9:30 am until start of funeral Mass at 10:00 am.  Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery Interment Chapel.
