Michael “Mike” Skopick, Jr., 90, of Lockport formerly of DesPlaines. U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Beloved husband for 69 ¾ years to Shirley, nee Uvaas. Loving father of Steven Skopick of New York, Keith Skopick of Lockport, IL and Karen Lindsey of Royal Oak, Michigan. Proud Grandfather of Stefanie (Brandon) Opp, Amy (Ben) Primia and Ceara Skopick. Dear brother of Diane, Betty, Gerry and the late Teddy, the late Joe and the late Richard Skopick.  Brother –in – law of David Uvaas and the late John (Betty) Uvaas. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Mike was a retired 40+ year employee of National Steel Company. He enjoyed landscaping and gardening. He loved fishing and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He was an active member and volunteer of the Edison Park Lutheran Church. He will be missed by family, past co workers and many cherished friends.
A funeral service will take place Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Edison Park Lutheran Church, 6626 N. Oliphant Avenue (at Avondale), Chicago, IL 60631. In State at church 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am.
