Darrell Francis Patt, Sr.American FlagPATT

Darrell Francis Patt, Sr. was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 3, 1931 to Anne and George Patt. Darrell’s family moved into the Forest Glen community of Chicago when he was in fifth grade. Darrell passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on August 21, 2019. He had lived in the Forest Glen area for 78 years.
He attended St. Cornelius School upon his family’s settling into a home in “The Glen.” His attendance at St. Cornelius Parish would become a lifelong homage to Mass each Sunday morning. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a B.S. of Science degree. During the Korean War era Mr. Patt served in the US Army’s, 87th Infantry Regiment from August 1, 1952 to June 12, 1954. Then in the Army Reserves until August 1, 1960.

Darrell retired at the age of 78 after having a very gratifying career spanning several decades in sales of industrial chemicals. He was associated with several fine companies in the industry.

He is survived by the love of his life for 59 years Jeannine Lee Patt. Two adoring children, Maureen (Greg) Pankow and Darrell F. (Loretta) Patt, Jr.. Proud Grandfather of Brad, Lindsey, Dallas and Daniel. Brother of Dennis Patt, Sr. Brother in law of Anna Mae (the late William) Schueler and Frances (William) Garland. Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place Tuesday, August 27, 2019.  Lying in State 9:00 am at     St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 5430 W. Foster Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60630 until time of funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Darrell’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Suite 800, Chicago, Illinois 60631 or at their website  Interment with Military Honors at All Saints Cemetery, DesPlaines, Illinois.  Arrangements entrusted to the M J Suerth Funeral Home.
