Richard T. Hallihan of Park Ridge, IL and Chicago, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 1/9/18.  Richard was born on November 6, 1933 in Chicago, IL.  Richard worked hard since the age of 14 becoming a Union Mason with the Local 21 before his work with Maine East High School.  He took pride in working on St. Philomena and Epiphany Roman Catholic Churches in Chicago and served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Beloved husband for 61 years Mary, nee Moran.  Loving father to Mary Rose Hallihan-McConnell, Richard Jr, Aurelius, William (Hagar), Ann (David Jo), Patrick (Jen), Catherine Hallihan and the late Kevin and Joseph Hallihan.  Proud Grandfather of Katherine (McConnell) Timlin, John McConnell, Raven and Willem Jo, Tyler Jasica, and Matthew and Eliana Hallihan and Great-Grandfather of Maddie Timlin.  Brother of Patrick and Maurice Hallihan.

Visitation Monday, January 16, 2018 from 3-8pm at the M. J. Suerth funeral home 6754 N. Northwest Highway, Chicago.  Funeral Tuesday, 9:30am Prayers at the funeral home to St. Paul of the Cross Church.  Mass at 10am.  Interment is Wednesday at 11am at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St Paul of the Cross Parish Educational Endowment fund at or Rainbow Hospice at  For further information, 877.631.1240 or
