Charles L. Doud, 74, an Edison Park resident since 1972, passed away on September 17, 2018. Beloved husband of 51 years to Marjorie, nee Stewart.

Loving father of Alexander (Michelle) and Adam (Jaime) Doud. Proud Granddad/Papa of Kevin, Kyle, Christopher, Clare, and Kaitlyn. Dear brother of Gary (Beverly) Doud and Donna Moody. Brother-in-law of Barbara Stewart. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Chuck, as he preferred to be known, was a contractor by trade for many years. He was a builder and problem solver. He could take anything and figure out how to make something better out of it. He was a tinkerer. Whenhe wasn't tinkering in the garage he tinkered in the kitchen - cooking showsand recipes - always trying new things. He was a die-hard Cubs fan until the end (even criticizing Joe Maddon’s moves in his final days). He was self-sacrificing, always helping people as much as he could. He was a giver.

For his sons, he was also active as a Scout leader for a number of years while they were in the ranks. He was very proud of both his Eagle Scouts. Most recently, he loved being a grandfather for his grandchildren. He lit up whenever they came over, for an overnighter, or even just a drop-in visit. He will be missed by all who knew him.
