Mildred M. CwiakCWIAK

Mildred M. Cwiak (nee Prusa) of Schaumburg, formerly of Edison Park, passed away on July 1, 2017; she was 93. Dear sister of the late Evelyn (the late Joseph) Utrosa; beloved wife of the late Edward A. Cwiak; devoted mother of Linda Cwiak, Edward (Barbara) Cwiak, and Karen (the late Kevin) Casciani; proud grandmother of Jennifer (Matthew) Johnson, Jessica Cwiak, and Kyle Casciani; and cherished great-grandmother of Madelyn Johnson.  

A Chicago native, Mil is remembered as a strong, hardworking woman. She spent most of her adult life working in healthcare. After retiring from various roles at Resurrection Hospital, Mil served her community as a volunteer at St. Alexis Hospital--where she worked in the gift shop. Mil felt fortunate to be able to drive until she was 88. She loved cheering for the Chicago Cubs, winning scratch off lottery tickets, and cooking for others. Family and friends alike will remember Mil’s delicious homemade pizzelle cookies.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 6th from 4:00-9:00pm at the M.J. Suerth Funeral Home (6754 N. Northwest Highway, Chicago, IL 60631). Funeral Mass will be Friday, July 7th at 10:30am at St. Thecla Church (6725 W Devon Ave , (at Oak Park) , Chicago, IL 60631). Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, Illinois.
